When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. This is used to create your Encore profile and identify you within the app.
Information you choose to add to your profile:
- Display name and handle
- Location (city)
- Bio / quote
- Favorite genres and artists
- Bucket list artists
- Social links (Instagram, Spotify, SoundCloud)
- Lifetime show count
Concert data we extract from your Gmail when you choose to run a scan:
- Artist / performer name
- Venue and city
- Show date
- Ticket source (e.g. Ticketmaster, Resident Advisor, Eventbrite)
When you click "Scan Gmail," Encore requests read-only access to your Gmail account via Google's OAuth system. We use this access to search for emails that look like concert ticket confirmations — things like order confirmations from Ticketmaster, Resident Advisor, Eventbrite, AXS, SeatGeek, and similar services.
We look at the subject line, sender, and snippet of matching emails only. Non-matching emails are never accessed. The email content itself is processed by an AI model to extract the concert details and is not stored.
Your Gmail access token is never stored on our servers. It lives in your browser session only and expires when you close the app or revoke access.
You can revoke Gmail access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Your data is used only to make Encore work for you:
- To show your upcoming shows in your feed
- To let friends see what shows you're going to (only people you follow and who follow you)
- To surface mutual shows between you and your friends
- To power genre and artist discovery features
- To remember your profile settings between sessions
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except the infrastructure providers listed below who are necessary to run the app.
